      Valour Up Twice, opgericht op 23 april 2009, speelde zijn eerste show op de volgende dag en valt sindsdien niet meer te stoppen. Ze brengen bluesy psychedelische postrock ten gehore. Denk aan een hedendaagse mix van Led Zeppelin, Radiohead en Wilco, waarbij niet geschroomd wordt buiten de gebaande genrepaden te treden. Passie en improvisatie staan centraal in liveshows die al zijn omschreven als ´imposant´ (lowlands ogoNoNogo) en waarbij regelmatig superlatieven vallen als ´een sensationeel goed spelende band´ en ´perfecte performance´ (JamPop). In Oktober 2010 werd hun inmiddels bijna uitverkochte EP ‘Into The Unknown’ gereleased in een volle zaal en ze hebben sindsdien niet stil gezeten.

      Nu, net 4 jaar na de oprichting, is het dan eindelijk tijd voor een heus debuutalbum. Deze zal de naam Kill Your Darlings dragen en in eigen beheer gerealeasd worden op 25 mei, wederom in de P79 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Het nieuwe album Kill Your Darlings telt 8 nummers met diverse sounds samengebracht tot één geheel waarmee de band Nederland gaat laten horen wat ze te bieden hebben.

       

      The Black Marble Selection: eerst moest er een selectie gemaakt worden. Dat gebeurde op 8 februari 2012. Wie komt in de band en wie niet? Het was moeilijk kiezen tussen allerhande Tilburgers die gemeen hebben dat ze graag mogen skateboarden en nog nooit in een band hadden gespeeld. Het was even moeilijk als een selectie maken uit twintig banken van zwart marmer in een donkere ruimte. Sindsdien is alles makkelijker en speelt The Black Marble Selection nummers inspired by the sixties, for the ladies!

      We zijn weer terug en dit keer vieren we onze 10e editie.

      Na een zeer geslaagde editie in maart is het al weer tijd voor de editie van mei. Waarbij de vorige editie de nadruk lag op de techno ligt hij deze keer meer op de cross-over van techno/electro.

      Twee gangster boys rechtstreeks uit de getto’s van Haarlem. Just Regular Guys of simpeler gezegd J.R.G. gaan behoorlijk hard met hun sprekende electro/techno sound. Hun platen worden gereleased op het vernieuwde Duitse GND Records en ontvangen support van artiesten als: Shadowdancer, Attaque, Sovngr, Mumbai Science, Baskerville en ga zo maar door.

      Misschien ken je ze nog.. In september 2012 waren deze twee zuiderburen uit Antwerpen namelijk ook van de partij. Toen sloten ze de avond af op een belachelijk goede wijze. Logisch dat we ze weer hebben uitgenodigd om dat trucje nog eens over te komen doen.

      In 2011 is het allemaal begonnen met de 1e editie van KULTURBRAUEREI in de voormalige Schellens fabriek in hartje Eindhoven. Vanuit passie voor elektronische muziek, de stad Berlijn en de underground scene van het nachtleven werd het tijd om zelf actie te ondernemen.
      Begin 2013 hebben we de handen ineen geslagen met Triphouse uit Rotterdam en zijn we met KLUB KULTUR van start gegaan. Met dit club concept hosten we bijzonder gezellige avonden in uitzonderlijk mooie horeca gelegenheden.
      Met Smirnoff als hoofdsponsor op zak en een maandelijkse residentie bij de Hoogste Tijd in Eindhoven zijn we klaar voor uitbreiding. We zijn dan ook enorm enthousiast om dit jaar nog met drie uitzonderlijke edities uit te mogen pakken bij Plein 79!
      Kwaliteit kost geld en tijd. Dat weten wij en dat weten jullie. Om kwaliteit te bieden vragen we een eerlijke prijs aan de deur. Eenmaal binnen beloven we jou dat je er geen spijt van zult krijgen.
      Verwacht een eigenzinnige club nacht, sfeervol en intiem, doordrenkt met diepe, rollende bassen.
      Deephouse, minimal en techno met hier en daar een hoekje af. Deejays die opvallen door kwaliteit en kenmerkende eigen stijl. Vette visuals en dikke laser branden op je netvlies op de dansvloer.
      Verwacht vooral veel gezelligheid met leuke lui en rare vogels. Keuvel met elkaar en dans tot diep in de nacht! Kortom BE THERE …

      It was Anton Pieete’s grandfather who stirred his grandson initial urge to make electronic music, by passing on his old synthesizer in 1997. And not without success. Now a days Anton Pieete is a key member of Amsterdam’s New School generation and is storming dance floors with his captivating take on contemporary techno. Innovative and in your face, his hybrid sound is steeped in industrial techno twisted with tough, edgy high-octane tech house.

      Anton’s first big break came in 2008, when ‘Players’ on Intacto Records hit the #1 top spot on Beatport. Later in 2009 he shot up the charts again with ‘Siberian’ on Intacto Records, driving the international clubbing masses to the dancefloor. Also his collaboration with Bart Skils, as District One, brought the same insane effect on the partycrowd.

      Applying the philosophy of ‘less is more’, then tweaking it with a heavier, ballsy sound, Anton has clearly carved a fresh, new direction for techno. His straight forward style seems to be exactly what people are longing for after years of clicking and clocking.

      Whether he is DJing or igniting the crowd with his liveset, performing solo or as District One, he always cooks the floors, gaining him a global reputation for being Amsterdam’s contemporary techno master.

      Frank Haag is known as one of the forward thinking underground techno producers in Amsterdam that challenges electronic music with a deeper sense of understanding.

      Frank Haag’s sound has an always substant and profound approach. His music has a certain sense of value, often combining the organic with the sonical abstract. Having studied Sonology at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague for several years, he has been and still is experimenting with analog and digital studio techniques by making mutiple channels compositions. As Frank Hagemans, his real name, focus lies on concrete music, also seen as sound art.

      In 2012 his bootleg of Depeche Mode is played by many other artists.
      Thanks to this remix and his new release on Paris’ Get The Curse Music, 2012 is the year that Frank get’s his fundamental international recognition. Frank rocked at clubs like Arma17 (Moscow), Watergate Club (Berlin) and Rex Club (Paris)and played in cities like Glasgow and Novi Sad, and he continues to increasingly travel the globe to bring his music.

      Haag’s history takes us back to the south of Holland where he grew up with his two elder brothers and sister. Coming from a family that is very involved in classical and jazz music, harmony and funk is automatically embedded in his roots. Through his older siblings Motown and over-produced `80 bands like Toto became his favourite listenings. Michael Jackson impressions were a daily routine. As a bass player, he played various gigs around the south of holland in the midst of the 90′s grunge movement. When not rehearsing with a band, Frank’s musical curiosity continued. Probably as a result of being used to hearing so much acoustic and “humanly” composed music, he became more and more consumed by the machine made and electronic sounds of house, techno and IDM.

      Steven Pieters (1983) was born in Etten-Leur (Netherlands) but soon after moved to a Rotterdam suburb. His interest in electronic dance music started to grow at the tender age of ten. Heavily influenced by the older kids in his neighborhood, who were already into mixing house records, he bought his first set of turntables in ’95 when he was only twelve years of age. Five years later at the age of seventeen, he was one of the resident DJ’s at a Rotterdam based after party club, quickly learning the tools of the trade. Nowadays he plays his music in clubs and festivals throughout Europe and the Middle East and is one of the tastemakers of the Dutch underground house scene. Although it’s hard to stick a certain label to his sound, it can be best described as a forward thinking blend of everything deep and funky. Whether playing solo or back to back with his partner in crime Khalil, he holds a reputation for bringing warm and soulful sounds with a distinct freaky edge and a powerful hypnotic groove.

      Besides spinnin’ records, Steven has also been focusing on the production of his own tracks and live set. In 2007 he was voted a semi finalist for the ‘Grote Prijs Van Nederland’, a prestigious Dutch contests for upcoming musicians. His first EP called “Crooswijk RIP’ (in collaboration with Khalil) on the label Grammafoon was released in 2008. In 2009 he was asked to make his first remix, a deephouse version of the track ‘Tranq’ by Russian producer Combinator on the Manual label, which received lots of positive feedback and got licensed to the compilation album ‘Colours of Deephouse vol. 2′. The same year several side projects surfaced including a track for the ‘One Minute Suite’ project of the Film Festival of Florence, Italy. As an addition to his live performance on stage, Steven formed a group with musicians from Rotterdam to collaborate with during live shows, fusing nu-school electronics and deep house with jazz, funk, soul and live vocals. In the spring of 2011 his track ‘Acid Sunset’ was signed by Darko Esser for his Wolfskuil Ltd label and was released on the split EP ’3 is not a crowd’, marking the labels 15th release.

      Currently Steven is running Triphouse Rotterdam, a collective of creative people from the city of Rotterdam who share a common love for underground house music. The collective operates from a building on the west side of the city which includes an office and a record store. Together with the collective he also runs several club nights and festivals, a radio show and the Triphouse Rotterdam label. With these activities Steven plays a vital role in maintaining a much needed platform for contemporary electronic music in his hometown. On a shorter notice: keep an eye out for this enthusiastic and highly motivated house freak, soon to be setting fire to a dance floor near you!

      The city of Rotterdam has been named a furtile breeding ground for electronic music producers and dj’s on numerous occassions. Modern architecture and heavy industrial activities create a harsh but charming environment. As the world’s second largest harbour, Rotterdam attracts people from all over the globe, and is therefore considered a true melting pot. It is this unique vibe that is reflected in Khalil’s music.

      In the late nineties Khalil came in contact with the vibrant clubscene of Rotterdam for the first time. Extensive partying and weekends wich seemed endless made him realize that this was his life’s calling. On the dancefloor he felt more than ever the importance to share good music with others. After scratching some cash together he bought his first set of turntables and started dj-ing in the year 2001. What followed was a journey through different genre’s of electronic dance music.

      As time passed by Khalil started to develop his trademark sound; a fusion between mind penetrating tech-house, flowing electro and highly emotional deephouse. It is the slightly melancholic but ever funky drive in his sets, that makes listening to him a real “mind, body and soul” experience. He is always in search of exceptional depth and he has a very keen nose for finding obscure records. This is what makes him stand out in today’s evergrowing army of discjockeys.

      Zanne specialises herself by combining her knowledge of 2 animation with her own sexy style. She got many big projects on her name, from classical projects to video productions and from big dance parties to rock-concerts.

      My name is Zanne, I’m facinated by emotions and how they can influence the way we perceive the world. Since young I started to collect my own emotions in the form of drawings. In my teenage years I developed love for animation and film making and inspired by Freud and Jung, started a dictionary of visual representations of how a emotions feel to me. I ended up graduating from the Rietveld Art Academy of Amsterdam and currently work computer animating and performing my emotions as a Video Jockey (VJ) or using them in art instalations. Emotions create my art and influence the perception of every other living being at every moment.

      Last years I worked at different events and festivals. I made animations for concerts, fashion show, dance parties and festivals. I would love to organize such events myself. I would love to create an event that combines dance and mindfulness into a strange experience where people can both contemplate, celebrate and connect.
      Zanne: “What I like most about veejaying is the continuous inventing of new stories and relations between the different animations I have made.
      Every night I veejay, will be totally different depending on the music, the atmosphere and me grasping the party. In general you can say my veejaystyle is very uplifting, but it also kind of depends on the theme of the party I am in.”
